Tottenham Hotspur fans have been left underwhelmed by a report linking them with Leicester City striker Islam Slimani.

The Daily Telegraph reports that Spurs could turn to the forward, who is currently on loan at AS Monaco, as they attempt to bring in reinforcements up front following the hamstring injury sustained by Harry Kane.

Manager Jose Mourinho is said to be keen to recruit a target man and the Foxes forward is on the radar of the club.

However, fans are less than convinced about the prospect of bringing the forward in.

And some supporters believe that the potential signing has Daniel Levy’s fingerprints all over it.

He has so far signed Gedson Fernandes on loan from Benfica this month and this would be another cut-price deal in order to somewhat strengthen Mourinho’s squad, which has no other senior out-and-out striker beyond Kane.

Slimani has played 14 times for Monaco this season, scoring seven goals, while also providing seven assists.
