Spurs fans on Twitter have been reacting to the news that the club have reopened talks with Bordeaux over the potential signing of Brazillian winger Malcom after missing out on him in the January windo this year.

French outlet Le10Sport have reported that Inter Milan, who were interested in Malcom, do not have the financial capability to meet Bordeaux's valuation and Tottenham have now contacted the French club and the players' agent.

The 21-year-old joined Bordeaux from Brazilian side Corinthians in January 2016. Last season he scored 12 goals and created eight assists as his side finished sixth in Ligue 1.

Valued at €45m by Transfermarkt, Malcom would provide much needed competition to Erik Lamela and Lucas Moura, and would be an upgrade on the former given neither have particularly impressed the Spurs faithful.

His pace and obvious technical ability would surely mean he would be successful in the Premier League, but while some Tottenham fans were buzzing with the news, others were not allowing themselves to get excited until a deal was announced.
