Tottenham Hotspur successfully overturned a half time deficit to take all three points against Brighton and Hove Albion on Boxing Day courtesy of goals from Harry Kane and Dele Alli.

Not only did Spurs manage to clinch all three points, the game also marked Erik Lamela's return to the first team squad.

The Argentine has been absent since a 1-1 draw with Watford back in October but he was left on the substitutes bench by Jose Mourinho on Thursday, with Giovanni Lo Celso, Christian Eriksen and Eric Dier all coming on instead.

However, Lamela appears to have impressed Mourinho with his attitude as he bids to return to the starting XI.

In the aftermath of proceedings the Portuguese manager claimed he was "touched" by the 27-year-old's willingness to put a shift in if required despite training with the team on just two occasions since being sidelined through injury.

In response to these quotes, a handful of supporters echoed similar sentiments to those of the Spurs boss.

It just goes to show that professionalism and a desire to give everything for the team are all that supporters really demand from their players.

One fan, however, claimed Lamela is merely meeting the standard fans have come to expect from him since he joined the club from Roma.

As is customary on social media, one fan went as far to suggest Lamela's attitude merits a five year long contract extension...

Lamela under Mourinho is something of an unknown entity but the recent admission perhaps offers an insight into the beginning of a positive relationship between player and manager.

And that's exactly how these Spurs fans have analysed the situation, with one suggesting Lucas Moura could be the man to make way once Coco - as he is affectionately known amongst the Lilywhites faithful - has returned to full fitness.
