According to Italian outlet Calciomercato, Spurs have joined Liverpool in the race for Lyon’s Nabil Fekir – the Reds came close to signing the Frenchman in the summer before a deal fell through and have thus left the door ajar for Mauricio Pochettino and co.
With the £11m sale of Mousa Dembele to Chinese outfit Guangzhou R&F and an injury to Harry Kane that could see the England captain out for up to 11 weeks, the Lilywhites are surely going to have to put their hands in their pockets this month after spending zilch in the summer window.
A strong, quick midfielder with fantastic close control, 25-year-old Fekir was surely seen as a replacement for Philippe Coutinho at Anfield but the signing never materialised – Naby Keita may have been expected to deputise but has not looked the part so far.
While Jurgen Klopp surely envisages Fekir as the final piece in his attacking jigsaw, some Spurs fans seem to have a different plan for him should they spoil the German’s transfer plans – here’s how they reacted to the reports on Twitter…
Good replacement for dembele tbh.

More of an Eriksen replacement if he goes. He doesn’t play in the center of the park, nor in the same role as Moussa played.
