Manchester City maintained their lead at the top of the Premier League table with a jaw-dropping 6-0 win over Chelsea, with Sergio Aguero scoring his second hat-trick in eight days.

The champions stormed into a four goal lead inside 25 minutes, with Aguero scoring a deliciously curled effort from outside the box before capitalising on a Ross Barkley mistake to fire home his second just six minutes later.

With Chelsea struggling to clear their lines, the former Everton man surely attempted to nod the ball back to Kepa between the sticks but his looping header failed to reach the Spaniard, with Aguero switched on to slot the ball home as it arced over the Blues defence and onto his left foot.

Having chalked up an assist in his side's 5-1 thrashing of Huddersfield last weekend, Barkley continued alongside N'Golo Kante and Jorginho in midfield but had a shocker - he was not alone in all fairness, but his mistake put the tie well out of Chelsea's reach.

The 25-year-old has had a difficult ride at Stamford Bridge since his arrival in January 2018, but looked to have found a new lease of life under Maurizio Sarri at the start of the season, as he held down the coveted third midfield spot.

Unfortunately, the number 8 has tailed off since but, despite his poor showing at the Etihad Stadium, and while some Spurs fans clearly aren't fans of the England man, others think their one-time target would be a hit at White Hart Lane.
