Tottenham Hotspur have confirmed on their official Twitter account that there are still tickets available for this weekend's test event at the new stadium.

And fans have reacted with a mixture of shock and befuddlement to the news that a match that will feature the club's Under-18 side against Southampton has not sold out; such is the excitement surrounding the new stadium's opening.

Tickets for the match are only currently available to season ticket holders and members of the club's One Hotspur scheme.

The match is being held at the new stadium because Spurs need to hold two test event matches with increasing attendance in order to qualify for a safety certificate - a vital piece of paperwork allowing the club to host competitive fixtures.

After this weekend's encounter, a Spurs legends team will take on Inter Milan.

The London Evening Standard report that the club had hoped to sell 30,000 tickets - the capacity is capped - for the Under-18s fixture.

And fans have reacted with surprise to news that tickets are still up for grabs, with many urging the club to place them on general sale. Take a look at the best of the reaction on Twitter below!
