Tottenham Hotspur fans have criticised Ryan Sessegnon for his display against Norwich City on Wednesday.
The summer signing from Fulham played at left-back against the Canaries at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
He struggled throughout the encounter, however, and conceded a penalty after fouling Max Aarons in the box.
That came after Dele Alli had given Spurs the lead and Teemu Pukki subsequently scored from 12 yards, levelling proceedings.
Son Heung-Min scored a winner for Jose Mourinho’s men but, nevertheless, fans were disappointed with the 19-year-old’s display.
Sessegnon looked like a rabbit in headlights all night; he is a player lacking in confidence; the senior pros need to help him feel part of the group! He needs to believe in himself! So much talent.

Sessegnon isn’t ready.

That 2nd half from spurs was disgraceful!! Players that can’t pass, players that have a weak mentality and a formation that doesn’t make much sense to me.I think I was right that sessegnon is over rated as a youngster.I hope the board have done the right thing choosing mo. #coys

You won't see many worse performances in a spurs shirt than what Sessegnon put in today, awful.

I’ll say it again…. Ryan sessegnon is not a premier league player!!! Fact! Not seen him take anyone on yet!! Not convinced it was a pen tho…. very soft!!!

Sessegnon not good enough, Lo Celso masterclass

3 points. Some pretty football at times. Lo Celso had a good game. But Sessegnon was poor and our defending awful, and why oh why did he bring Eriksen on! #COYS

Full Time 2-1 to Spurs.
Lo Celso was phenomenal and deserved man of the match for his team play.
Sessegnon was poor in defense.
Eriksen was ruining our play when he came on.
Still need a striker but definitely an improvement to our shooting.

However, a number of other fans were more measured in their criticism.
Sessegnon is a versatile player and can also be deployed as a winger, and a number of supporters believe that he should not be played at left-back.
Without Lo Celso we would have absolutely zero creativity which is a scary thought. Also Aurier isn’t that bad you know, think we need to look more left side, sessegnon isn’t a LB and tbh I don’t know what he is currently he looks lost and in a daze constantly #THFC

Son, Dele and Moura offering very little up front at the mo.
LoCelso MOTM today; pressing, passing and recovering the ball. Immense.
Aurier creating plenty of opportunities again.
Sessegnon, needs to move forward and cross into the box.
Content with the win. #COYS

I don't ever wanna see Sessegnon at LB again

Prior to the clash with Norwich, the 19-year-old had made five Premier League appearances, with only one coming at left-back, in the 1-0 defeat to Southampton at St Mary’s.
He did play there, however, in the 2-1 FA Cup win over Middlesbrough.
Meanwhile, Spurs have a new striker target!
