Tottenham Hotspur fans have been sent into an uproar this week after Danny Rose’s latest comments about his temporary departure from the club.
The 29-year-old left on loan to Newcastle United last month, ending a seven-year spell amongst the Spurs first-team setup, and here’s what he has said per Last Word on Spurs:
🏴 Danny Rose:
🤨 "I saw me going as soon as Mauricio lost his job. I wish Jose the best of luck.”
🏆 “I wish Tottenham the best of luck. I hope they get into the top four this season and do well in the FA Cup.”
— Last Word On Spurs🎙 (@LastWordOnSpurs) February 23, 2020
Rose has played 214 times for the club but still has over a year to run on his current contract, so it remains to be seen whether he has much of a future in north London past the current season.

Here’s how fans have been reacting…
Attention seeker. Got serious issues.
— Jide (@JideHowardChase) February 24, 2020
He thinks he is a club legend or something?
— Mourinhista (@mourinho_spurs1) February 23, 2020
Somebody give him attention
— T (@_thfcTas) February 24, 2020
Several supporters blasted him for being an attention seeker, claiming that the left-back has got “serious issues” whilst another questioned whether he thought he was a club legend – clearly in the mind of this fan, he wasn’t.
Others asked him to simply stop talking as it’s all they have heard from his mouth in the past month.
I really liked him but when can he stop talking about us and focusing on his new challenge?
— Sandro (@Sandro_GLC18) February 23, 2020
I admire the effort he gave, much like Eriksen but I’m sick of hearing his name. Hes no more at spurs so no longer interested.
— Dave Ramshaw (@RamshawDave) February 23, 2020
Is he still taking …. Seriously never heard anyone talk so much !
— Cos1882 (@CNK82) February 23, 2020
Is he still talking?! You might’ve thought that he’d focus on Newcastle!
— Jane (@Janemcd17) February 23, 2020
Cheers Danny we really needed to be reminded of this for the 4th time
— Musa 🇵🇹 (@Musathfc28) February 23, 2020
A further member of the Spurs faithful told him to focus on his new side, Newcastle, and one supporter stated he was sick of hearing his name and because he was no longer at the club, he was no longer interested.
Some mentioned former manager Mauricio Pochettino, whose sacking supposedly led to Rose knowing his time was up at the club.
The most painful thing is that rose knows how bad he is .. poch really kept alot of players that are no longer good enough.. is not a charity.. wanyama, rose, Dier, Jan, all of them we cant use them anymore..
As much as I love them all and adore them all but that’s the truth
— Hussam #levyout (@Gazzanigatot) February 24, 2020
Just confirms that poch was his security blanket
— Ziyaad (@TottenhamTopBoy) February 23, 2020
The Argentine was Rose’s “security blanket” according to one fan while another believes the ex-Spurs boss kept far too many players who weren’t good enough.
