Tottenham Hotspur moved into fifth place in the Premier League with a dramatic victory in a goal-laden game against Aston Villa this afternoon.

Heung-min Son was on the money in the fourth minute of additional time to seal his brace and all three points for Spurs.

Jose Mourinho's side came from behind in the first half after Toby Alderwiereld poked an own goal past Hugo Lloris but he soon atoned for his error by netting from ten yards out 18 minutes later before Son followed up from his missed penalty on the cusp of half-time.

Despite the win, plenty of supporters were far from happy with the performance of midfielder Eric Dier and they have mounted all sorts of criticism at him on social media.

Here's what has been said...

There were plenty of superlatives used to emphasise just how poor some fans thought the Englishman was in the centre of the pitch, including "disasterclass," "atrocious" and "a mare."

Whilst others directly went for his lack of pace considering he's occupying a midfield position with him being compared to an asthmatic tortoise with another claiming that Dier plays like he's wearing weights around his ankle and body.

The 26-year-old's display has led to further members of the Spurs faithful demanding that the club either drop him from the starting XI or sell him entirely at the next opportunity.

Dier was also described as "tragic" and as the worst defensive midfielder in the Premier League.

There were even additional comparisons made, one fan claimed he hadn't seen a worse professional footballer than Dier while another added that he would much rather have Danny Drinkwater at centre-mid instead of Dier - quite a claim.

A true test for any Spurs fan: Can you match these iconic images with the right results?
