Tottenham Hotspur fans have insisted that they have not missed the club’s tweets announcing their injury woes.

In a series of tweets on Friday, Spurs confirmed that Dele Alli, Ben Davies, Ryan Sessegnon and Juan Foyth were all ruled out of the game against Aston Villa through injury, while winger Son Heung-min is suspended.

It means that Mauricio Pochettino has a headache ahead of the opening game of the campaign, with a number of first-team stars on the treatment table.

It remains to be seen who will play at right-back, with Kieran Trippier sold to Atletico Madrid in the summer and Foyth unavailable for selection; Serge Aurier missed pre-season due to a wrist injury, meaning Kyle Walker-Peters could take on the role.

Danny Rose, too, could play at left-back despite numerous reports linking him with a move away; it has been claimed that Spurs rejected bids from Watford for the England international on transfer deadline day.
