Spurs free to sign strike saviour in £14m deal

Spurs could lure Belgium international Laurent Depoitre to White Hart Lane next year if they match Gent’s £14m price tag, according to reports from Het Nieuwsblad.

The 26-year-old striker has been in terrific form so far this season, notching six goals in 15 Jupiler League games to help his side to the top of the table.

Depoitre’s form has also been enough to earn a first international cap and he furthered his reputation with a debut goal against Andorra.

And reports claim that Spurs are very much interested in acquiring his signature, which they may be able to get if they match Gent’s £14m valuation.

However, the Belgian club are reluctant to sell until the end of the season and will only look to get rid of their star man if he refuses to commit himself to a new contract – his current deal expires in 2017.
