Spurs join race for in-demand Premier League star

Tottenham are firmly in the running for Newcastle midfielder Moussa Sissoko, according to reports from The Times.

The France international has long been hailed as one of the Magpies’ star men, and played a key role as the club avoided relegation to the Championship on the last day of the 2014/15 campaign – he netted a fine header against West Ham.

He has since been heavily linked with a host of rival teams, including Liverpool, and despite his confession that he’s happy in the North East, Spurs are keen on Sissoko.

Reports claim that, although no official bids have been received, the Londoners are looking at the 25-year-old following the sales of midfielders such as Paulinho, Etienne Capoue and Benjamin Stambouli.

Sissoko, a full Les Bleus international, has been lauded for his physicality and attacking drive since his 2013 arrival at the club from Toulouse.
