Spurs planning desperate late £25m move for long-term target

Spurs are readying a late £25m offer to win the race for West Brom striker Saido Berahino, according to reports from Football Insider.

The Burundi-born forward has been a target for the London club for much of the past nine months, with the Baggies famously turning down numerous offers from White Hart Lane during the last transfer window.

Berahino has since been a somewhat peripheral player at The Hawthorns, but his stock has remained high among potential Premier League suitors, with Newcastle thought to be keen.

But, reports claim that Tottenham are plotting one last move for the 22-year-old, with chairman Daniel Levy having been biding his time.

It’s claimed that the Lilywhites’ prospective move for Fulham’s Moussa Dembele has collapsed, making Berahino a viable option to work alongside Harry Kane for the remainder of the season as Spurs look to stay in the title race.
