Spurs plotting late move to nab West Ham target

Tottenham have emerged as late contenders to snap up impressive Sampdoria ace Pedro Obiang, despite serious interest from cross-city rivals West Ham, according to reports from Tuttosport.

The 23-year-old Spaniard has been a huge hit in Serie A since making his first-team debut for his current side, whom he joined as a teenager from Atletico Madrid in search of guaranteed playing time.

It’s been claimed that the Hammers are close to agreeing a deal for Obiang, but now reports suggest that Spurs are keen to nab him.

Mauricio Pochettino has seemingly settled on a midfield combination of Ryan Mason and Nabil Bentaleb after growing frustrated with big money flops such as Mousa Dembele, Paulinho and Etienne Capoue.

However, the Argentine seemingly wants a top class signing to compete with the pair, with Obiang an option.
