Tottenham Hotspur face Norwich City on Wednesday evening.

Spurs have been in rather poor form in recent weeks and have not won in the Premier League since Boxing Day.

That runs includes a 2-2 draw with the Canaries at Carrow Road, meaning that manager Jose Mourinho will be wary of the threat offered by Daniel Farke’s men.

Norwich are, admittedly, bottom of the Premier League table but they will be on a high after their 1-0 victory over Bournemouth.

Football FanCast has taken a look at the team that Mourinho should select for the midweek clash…

Paulo Gazzaniga is sure to continue in goal with Hugo Lloris injured.

In defence, Japhet Tanganga has been the breakout star of this season for Spurs, playing in all of their last three games in all competitions; he has been played in a variety of positions but impressed at left-back versus Watford. That is where he ought to stay.

Serge Aurier should line up on the opposite side of the defence, with Davinson Sanchez and Toby Alderweireld at centre-back. Jan Vertonghen may have captained the side against Watford but his lack of pace on the turn is a problem for the club.

The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?

In midfield, there needs to be some semblance of defensive solidity and, despite Eric Dier being left out against Watford, he should be restored to the side here.

That would allow Harry Winks the freedom he needs to roam in central midfield. Tanguy Ndombele is fit, per the club's official Twitter account, but Spurs have to manage him carefully; starting him here does not make sense.

Further forward, Erik Lamela was wasteful against Watford and one feels that Giovani Lo Celso should play on the right side of attacking midfield ahead of the 27-year-old; he will be able to advance with the ball and move it beyond the Norwich defence instead of being forced to build up from deep.

Dele Alli and Son Heung-Min can then take on the No.10 and left wing roles respectively, leaving a puzzle for Mourinho to solve up front.

Lucas Moura is the obvious solution but he drew a blank against the Hornets; consider this his last chance to impress through the middle.

Meanwhile, a Spurs star is closing in on a return!
