Ole Gunnar Solskjaer boosted his reputation at Stamford Bridge on Monday night as Manchester United recorded a 2-0 win over Chelsea and handed Spurs the opportunity to leapfrog their London rival ahead of Saturday’s showdown.
In other positive news for the Red Devils, the clash also marked the return of Eric Bailly, who played his first 90 minutes of the Premier League season.
The defender quickly jumped on Instagram to post a snap following the huge achievement as he labelled it a night he’ll never forget.

But interestingly enough, Serge Aurier was seen in the comments thanking his friend for the favour United have done for Spurs with Jose Mourinho’s return to Stamford Bridge looming on the imminent horizon.
However, the former PSG defender may yet rue to regret thanking Bailly for helping United clinch three points as Solskjaer’s men also represent a genuine rival in the race for the top four.
Indeed, just three points separate fourth place Chelsea from seventh place United.
The race for Champions League qualification in the Premier League is beginning to heat up.
