Spurs star considering exit to save career

Andros Townsend is considering leaving Spurs in January amid fears that he may slip off of England manager Roy Hodgson’s radar, according to reports from The Mirror.

The 24-year-old winger has been a Three Lions regular in recent years, but missed out on a spot in the current squad through injury.

Hodgson is known to be a fan of the pacey wide-man, but reports claim that Townsend is worried that his club woes may see him slide out of the frame.

The former QPR loanee has struggled for first-team action so far this season under Mauricio Pochettino, and it’s understood that the London club attempted to offload him over the summer.

It’s claimed that Townsend was offered to West Brom as part of a deal for Saido Berahino.

The saga has left the White Hart Lane star fearful for his future, which could prompt him to make a winter move with EURO 2016 on the horizon.
