Spurs’ weekend draw at West Brom may have been a bit of a disappointment from their perspective, but the point keeps them firmly in the title race given Manchester City’s slip a home to Everton.
In some ways it feels more a point gained than two lost given the nature of Dele Alli’s equaliser, and it must be said that the young Englishman deserved his spot on the scoresheet at The Hawthorns.
As the numbers show, Alli was on fire against the Baggies, completing 89% of his passes, two of which were key passes, while getting on the ball enough to make 63 touches and registering a dribble success rate of 67%.
The 20-year-old’s goal was his third of the season in league action and he’s going some way towards proving that his heroics last term were no fluke.
Spurs currently sit third in the league table, just a point behind Man City and Arsenal, albeit they will drop to fourth if Liverpool beat Manchester United this evening.
