Spurs transfer blow… Euro giants expected to snap up top playmaker within days

Spurs target Mario Gotze is almost certain to re-join Dortmund and a deal could be done within days, according to reports from Bild.

The Germany international’s future has been the subject of intense debate for much of the summer, with the Bayern Munich outcast having been aligned with Liverpool, and a reunion with Jurgen Klopp, for a while now.

However, the Reds are out of the race, but Spurs have emerged as suitors for the 24-year-old, with talks having taken place between his representatives and the London club.

But, reports now claim that Gotze is closing in on an emotional move back to Dortmund, with a deal likely to be done in the coming days.

The German newspaper, who are often pretty clued-up on matters surrounding the nation’s biggest clubs, believe that the player is likely to head back to the Wesfalenstadion as Thomas Tuchel looks to rebuild after the loss of Henrikh Mkhitaryan to Manchester United.

Gotze left BVB in the summer of 2013 to join Bayern, but has done little at the Allianz Arena.
