Tottenham Hotspur could sell Kyle Walker-Peters this month, per Football Insider.

What’s the word?

Manager Jose Mourinho is said to have given the green-light to the sale of the right-back, with Crystal Palace and Southampton both interested in securing his signature.

The club are reported to have placed a £15m asking price on the 22-year-old, whom Football Insider reports has accepted his need to move away from north London.

Walker-Peters has not been in the club’s matchday squad since November and has played just three times in the league this season, in the opening three games of the season against Aston Villa, Manchester City and Newcastle United.

A victim of no opportunity

Walker-Peters has never really been trusted at Spurs.

The most appearances he has ever made in a single Premier League season came in 2018/19, when he played just six times.

In total, the 22-year-old has played just 24 times for the club and is unlikely to add to that tally if this report is anything to go by.

It’s a shame but the truth is that neither Palace or Southampton really know what type of player they are chasing.

Wherever he ends up, he will be given his very first opportunity to shine and, really, that is an indictment of Spurs.

They never gave him a proper chance.

Meanwhile, Spurs are still paying for a major mistake!
