PSV Eindhoven are “furious” with Tottenham Hotspur target Steven Bergwijn, per Eindhoven Dagblad, via Sport Witness.

What’s the word?

Football FanCast sources have confirmed that Spurs have made an offer worth £21m for the PSV winger, though no deal has yet been reached. Leicester City are also interested.

And Eindhoven Dagblad reports that the Dutch club are angry with the way the 22-year-old and his advisors have conducted themselves.

FFC sources understand that Bergwijn has travelled to London, though the report states that he did not have permission to do so.

PSV played on Sunday, drawing 1-1 with FC Twente, and the Netherlands international was absent, having reportedly told his manager that he did not want to play in the game.

Forcing the move

It looks as though Bergwijn is remarkably keen to complete a move to north London.

If this report is true and he has travelled to England without the club’s prior consent, one has to assume that he is simply attempting to push the deal through himself.

There is less than a week remaining in this transfer window and it looks as though the young attacker, who can also play up front, is not taking any chances.

The big fat Tottenham quiz of 2019 - how much do you remember about the last year at Spurs?

However, it could well backfire, as Sport Witness also claims that negotiations over a transfer could be terminated due to PSV’s anger.

Sources were at pains to point out that no deal has yet been reached between the two clubs; Bergwijn is playing a dangerous game.

Meanwhile, Jose Mourinho has issued a cold update on one star who could leave this month.
