Steven McManaman has recently talked about Gareth Bale and claimed the Welshman is too good to move to China and, for that reason, it would be really nice to see him back in England.

What did he say, then?

Bale's future at Real Madrid is still very much in the dark.

Of course, his recent antics while he was away on national team duty definitely won't help him gain any admirers but he still has a contract until the summer of 2022.

In the summer, a move to China was reportedly on the table and the Welshman was really close to calling it a day in the Spanish capital.

In the end, he remained as one of the Galacticos but Liverpool legend, McManaman, believes that if he's to leave, it should be for the Premier League.

The former Red stated he would love to see Bale back in England, showing the fans what he's capable of, per HorseRacing.net (via Goal).

"If he does want to leave, then I’d love it if he came back to the Premier League. I wouldn’t want him to go to China, because he’s too good a footballer. I’d love to see him back, showing the people of England just how good he still is."

Time to leave

Interestingly enough, with Jose Mourinho's recent return to professional management with Tottenham Hotspur, the links with Bale were bound to come and come they did.

Bleacher Report stated the Welshman could be considered by Daniel Levy and we just might see him back in London in the not so distant future.

Looking at it from the player's and Real Madrid's point of view, there's really nothing much to think about - their relationship is obviously not really intact and with the fans already turning on him, separation might be for the best.

Whether it's really going to be Spurs or any other Premier League side is not so important at this point in time.

Bale definitely still has quality and when he's playing regular football, he can still shine and score important goals, as his Champions League strikes can confirm - he scored three goals in both 2018/19 and 2017/18 campaigns, including two goals in the final against Liverpool as well.

Maybe it's finally time to call it a day and throw in the towel.

Leaving Real Madrid does seem like the option that would benefit all parties.
