Portsmouth have rubbished reports linking veteran goalkeeper David James with a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur.
The 39-year-old England international is once again rumoured to be on Spurs boss Harry Redknapp's wish-list and was believed to be close to sealing a switch to White Hart Lane in August.
Pompey's chief executive Peter Storrie has laughed off the recent stories though, saying:"It's a load of rubbish, it really is. David's under contract and it will be staying that way.
"He's happy and we're happy – David's going absolutely nowhere.
"We don't need to sell him and we've no interest in doing so. People should ignore these rumours, that's all they are."
James has started 136 games for Portsmouth since moving to Fratton Park from Manchester City in the summer of 2006.
