Tottenham's Son Heung-min is the Premier League's form player.

The South Korean international has scored four goals and provided two assists in the top flight and the forward-winger - who was a bit-part player for much of last term - has become the catalyst for Spurs fantastic early-season form.

That tally almost takes him level with last season's return of eight goals in 42 appearances - mightily impressive considering the campaign is still in its early days.

Despite not adding to his scoring total last weekend, Son was instrumental in Tottenham's 2-0 victory over Premier League leaders Manchester City, which saw his side jump into second in the table with seven games gone.

'Sonny' - as he is known by the Spurs faithful - also earned himself the prize of the club's 'Goal of the Month' for his superb effort and second of the game in a 2-1 victory over Middlesborough in September.

Signed from Bayer Leverkusen during the summer of 2014, the South Korea international is starting to prove why Spurs splashed a £22million fee on his signature and is fast becoming a fan favourite at White Hart Lane.

We have done a little digging around, finding some very interesting facts about Tottenham's man of the moment. So here are ten interesting facts you didn't know about Son Heung-min..

On the Move

Tottenham Hotspur v Everton - Barclays Premier League

Having endured an hit-and-miss first season for the club, Son was linked with a move back to the Bundesliga during the summer, with Wolfsburg particularly interested in securing his services. But it seems club and player agreed on staying in London, however, and it has paid off spectacularly.

Military Service

Middlesbrough v Tottenham Hotspur - Premier League

Not even Premier League footballers are exempt from South Korea's mandatory 21-month military service before the age of 28. As it stands, Son will still have to serve, however there could be a way out ....

Olympic Glory

Heung-Min Son

Olympic/athletic medalists and are amongst the few allowed to bypass the mandatory service and Son still has a chance to gain his own if South Korea can perform at the 2018 Asian games. His country failed to deliver at the Olympics in Rio this summer and dropped out at the quarter-final stages.

So Close Already

The Korean FA requested that Son be allowed to play in the 2014 Asian games as winning the gold medal would of course exempt him form military service. His club at the time, Bayer Leverkusen, refused as they would lose him for at least six games and of course, his country won gold.

Joining the likes of Bill Gates and Steve Jobs in an esteemed list of successful people who dropped out of education, Son himself left of Dongbuk High School at age 16 to move to Hamburg's youth academy.

Happy 18th!

Heung-Min Son, Tottenham Hotspur, Hamburg

Most people celebrate their 18th birthday by hitting the town and getting inordinately drunk. However, the South Korean enjoyed his by signing his first professional contract at Hamburger SV. I'd prefer going out to be honest.
