Eric Lamela was getting dangerously close to joint the fairly long lost of expensive Premier League flops after last season’s no show.
The £30million midfielder was described as the next best thing when he arrived last summer but, following injuries and a struggle to adapt to English life saw him quickly labelled as a waste of time and money.
But his first-half display against QPR at White Hart Lane this afternoon suggested otherwise. He provided two assists as Spurs raced in to a 3-0 lead before the break, and he became the talk of Twitter as fans stood up and finally began to appreciate the youngster’s talents…
Lamela was excellent throughout the 45mins. #Class

Tottenham have now scored six goals this season and Erik Lamela has assisted four of them. Di María-esque. #thfc
