Barcelona midfielder Denis Suarez is reportedly keen to join Arsenal in January, but Tottenham Hotspur should swoop for a player who would be perfect for them.

The Chalkboard

According to AS, Suarez is keen to join Arsenal in January, despite interest from the likes of Chelsea and AC Milan.

The 24-year-old scored three times in 27 appearances for Barcelona last season, but has not played a single minute of La Liga football for the Spanish champions this term.

Indeed, Suarez's only football this season has come in the Copa del Rey, and it is thought that he will seek a move away from Camp Nou in the January transfer window.

Arsenal appear to be in the driving seat, but Suarez would be the perfect arrival for Tottenham due to his ability to play in a number of different positions.

The Spaniard is also unlikely to command a huge transfer fee, which will certainly appeal to club chairman Daniel Levy, who is under pressure to spend.

Suarez could light up Tottenham

Capable of playing in central midfield, on the left and indeed on the right, Suarez would be very attractive for Tottenham boss Mauricio Pochettino.

Indeed, Suarez has managed six goals and 10 assists in 64 first-team games for Barcelona, and is the type of player who would relish linking with the likes of Dele Alli and Christian Eriksen in the positions behind Harry Kane.

The Spaniard could also play in a three alongside the likes of Harry Winks and Eric Dier, and has the technical skills required to thrive in matches where Tottenham dominate the ball.

Smart, skilful and with an eye for a pass, Suarez is perfectly suited to the Premier League, and would provide Pochettino with a different option to the likes of Erik Lamela and Son Heung-min.

Suarez does not turn 25 until next year, and could turn out to be a very, very clever signing by Tottenham if they take the plunge.
