With the end of the Premier League season already coming into view, for whatever becomes of Tottenham Hotspur’s season under Andre Villas-Boas, the onus will be as ever, on looking to try and push on and improve during the close season. And regardless of whether they manage to attain Champions League qualification, there is still plenty of improvement to be had within the Portuguese’s squad.
But for as important as it is to bring in reinforcements, it’s also imperative that the club engage in something of a summer clear-out. And if they’re looking to raise a little bit of capital before they buy or merely free up some space on the wage-bill, Spurs could certainly do worse than looking to get these five gentlemen off their books.
Quite how much they’d raise is open to dispute, as is the notion of whether they’d all be particularly happy to leave White Hart Lane. But what isn’t in any doubt is the meagre impact that all five have had within the first-team this season and if the club are genuinely looking to push on and evolve next season, then there’s every chance that the following players could be spending a summer looking over their shoulders.
