This season, Kyle Naughton has been given sporadic opportunities in Tottenham’s starting XI as cover for Benoit Assou-Ekotto, but has not taken the chance to shine.
The former Sheffield United defender has spent the majority of his Spurs career being farmed out, and proved his worth in the Premier League on loan to Norwich last season.
But upon being asked to perform at a higher level, at a club bidding for Champions League qualification, the full-back has not delivered, remaining inconsistent from game to game, and often looking out of his depth.
The 24 year old has a good career ahead of him, but perhaps is not quite the standard of quality the Lilywhites are looking for at this moment in time.
Naughton old is still young however, and can operate on either flank, meaning he could fetch a decent transfer fee in the coming window.
