Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Steven Bergwijn from PSV Eindhoven this summer, per the Daily Mail.

The winger has also been linked with Liverpool and Manchester United but Spurs are the English side most likely to bring him in; he is valued at £35million by the Dutch outfit.

A winger who can play on the left or the right, he netted 15 goals in 2018/19 and also laid on 13 assists.

He played 86 minutes against Spurs in the Champions League group stages as Mauricio Pochettino’s men won 2-1 and he also started both games against Barcelona.

And the picture below perhaps sums up exactly why the north London club are so keen to bring the 21-year-old to England, as he tussles with Lionel Messi in his own half.

Pochettino, after all, instils within his players a collective mentality that ensures there are no passengers.

And Bergwijn’s willingness to track back and get stuck in will surely have endeared him to the Tottenham boss.

Here is a forward with the ability to score, create and get stuck in, and who has already won five caps for the Netherlands.

At £35m he may well be a snip in today’s market.
