These stats prove Tottenham’s flops are finally pulling their weight

Much has been said of Tottenham’s transfer flops over the last couple of seasons.

There’s no doubt they’ve got a fair amount of dead wood in the side, with boss Mauricio Pochettino doing a lot of rotation between competitions, both domestically and in Europe.

But it turns out that, despite Pochettino rumoured to have put a lot of them up for sale this month, they’ve come in handy on many an occasions these season.

Twenty different players have have been involved in goals for Spurs this season, ranging from Harry Kane (20 combined goals and assists) all the way to Kyle Naughton (1).

But it’s the most high profile flops that are the real eye opener. Erik Lamela and Roberto Soldado have been labelled the biggest flops of that huge £100m spending spree two summers ago, but they seem to have started repaying their huge transfers this term.
