Tottenham angered by transfer pursuit

Tottenham Winger Gareth BaleClub officials at Tottenham are said to be furious at the ‘dirty tricks’ employed by Real Madrid in their pursuit of club talisman Gareth Bale, according to the Daily Star.

Reports in Spanish newspaper Marca yesterday sensationally suggested Bale had told Spurs he wanted to leave White Hart Lane to join Carlo Ancelotti’s men. Even more revealing was their conjuncture that Real Madrid were to offer the Welshman a six year contract worth £8.5 million a year. All this on top of a joint world record £80 million transfer fee to paid to the Lillywhites.

This new development comes off the back of Andre Villas-Boas consistently insisting his star player isn’t for sale at any price. The Portuguese manager stated yesterday ‘I want to repeat what I was telling you last season. He’s a Tottenham player, he’s one of the most fantastic players in the world at the moment and we are counting on him for the future’.

Bale proved himself to be one of the Premier League’s genuinely world class players last season scooping both the player and young player of the year awards. Some sources indicate Manchester United are monitoring the 24-year-old should the Madrid transfer be called off.

Will Bale still be your player at the start of the season Tottenham fans?
