Crystal Palace boss Roy Hodgson has warned any potential suitors, including Tottenham Hotspur, that star player Wilfried Zaha will not be leaving Selhurst Park for the next four years, as reported in The Liverpool Echo.

What's the story?

Zaha, who earns £100,000-a-week with the Eagles according to The Sun, made a name for himself as a young Crystal Palace prodigy and sealed what appeared to be a dream move to Manchester United under Sir Alex Ferguson back in 2013.

Unfortunately it proved to be Sir Alex’s final transfer and Zaha wasn’t favoured by his replacement David Moyes and he soon returned to his boyhood club.

Since then the Ivorian has shone and he has been linked with a move this summer to Tottenham, Everton and Borussia Dortmund according to the report.

But Eagles boss Roy Hodgson has ruled out any move before his contract expires in 2022 for the speed demon, who is valued at £27million on Transfermarkt.

No surprises

It's understandable that Crystal Palace would want to keep their finest talent at the club for as long as possible unless a gargantuan bid comes their way, and this is exactly what Hodgson's comments achieve.

He is making it clear that the club are not looking to sell and this will likely put off any potential interest.

However, every player has his price but it seems Spurs would have to pay above the odds for Zaha which they shouldn't do given there are other areas of the squad which need prior focus.
