Tottenham close in on £10m West Ham target

Tottenham are closing in on the capture of Corinthians star Alexandre Pato, according to The Sun.

The former AC Milan forward has been linked with a move back to Europe in January, with both West Ham and Liverpool reportedly interested in bringing him to the Premier League.

But The Sun claim Spurs have won the race for the 26-year-old, and will complete a £10million deal ahead of the January transfer window.

It is being reported Pato’s agent Giulano Bertolucci recently travelled to London to meet with middleman Kia Joorabchian to finalise the deal.

The Brazil international was once seen as one of world football’s brightest talents when he signed for AC Milan back in 2007, as he went on to average 14 goals a season in first four years in Italy.

However, two injury plagued seasons saw him eventually shipped back to Brazil to Corinthians, and he has since spent the last two seasons on loan at Sao Paulo – scoring 19 goals in 59 first team appearances.
