The Brazilian has been a long-term target for the Premier League side, and it looks like finally he will be signing for the London club.
Andre Villas-Boas is looking to revamp his attacking options this summer, after only having Jermain Defoe and Emmanuel Adebayor available as senior forwards.
Damiao, who came off the bench in Brazil’s recent friendly against England, had a £16million bid for him rejected by Internacional in January.
But it seems like the Brazilian club will finally accept an offer from Tottenham this summer, as the London side look to finally get back into the Champions League.
Chairman Daniel Levy has also identified Roberto Soldado as another attacking option for the club, and the 51-year-old is planning a £36million bid for the duo.
Soldado scored 25 La Liga goals this season, as Valencia finished 5th, just a point behind 4th-placed Real Sociedad.
Levy is hopeful that the pair will not only improve the side, but they will be enough to convince Gareth Bale to stay for next season. The Welshman’s future is in doubt, and Levy is hopeful that the two forwards will demonstrate that the club is moving in the right direction, and tempt Bale to continue playing in a Tottenham shirt.
Would Damiao be a good signing? Can he and Soldado lead Spurs to Champions League football next season?
