Tottenham Hotspur believe that Mauricio Pochettino will remain as the club’s manager next season despite the Argentine initiating a meeting with Manchester United legend Sir Alex Ferguson recently, according to reports from talkSPORT.
Pochettino was seen leaving a London restaurant with Ferguson earlier in the week, which fuelled speculation that the former Southampton gaffer was being convinced to join the Red Devils at the end of the campaign.
However, it has been revealed that the instigator of the meet was actually Pochettino himself, and it has also been claimed that the Lilywhites had full knowledge of the appointment.
The Spurs boss has already made a verbal agreement to extend his contract at White Hart Lane to five years, but with no deal being signed, there is still wiggle room for United to lure Pochettino away from the north London club.
Yet the Tottenham hierarchy remain confident of his stay, and hopes he can push the team one better next season and finish as champions.
