Bale has been heavily linked with a move away from the Premier League and is still odds on at http://www.betfair.com/ to leave Spurs, with talks between the two clubs finally starting over the last week.
But Daniel Levy has demanded that Madrid offer Morata plus cash for the Welshman, who won the PFA Player’s Player and Young Player of the Year awards. The Spanish forward impressed playing for the Spanish Under-21 national side, and is now set to play a big part of any deal for Bale.
Madrid are currently in Miami, Florida, ahead of a pre-season friendly, and president Florentino Perez is set to meet with Daniel Levy to continue negotiations for the transfer. However, the Spurs chairman has informed Perez he will only fly out to Miami if Real are willing to negotiate a move for Morata as part of the deal.
Perez was interested in offering Portuguese full-back Fabio Coentrao or Argentine winger Angel Di Maria as part of a record-breaking deal, but Spurs have set their sights on Morata. The Madrid president has tried to get more youth team players into Real’s first team, however a move that sees Bale join Los Blancos could get the priority over the side’s academy.
Tottenham will want to have Bale and Morata’s futures sorted before their opening match of the new season away to Crystal Palace on Sunday August 18th.
