Emmanuel Adebayor and Benoit Assou-Ekotto are both targets for Redknapp, who wants to bring the pair to Loftus Road on loan.
The former Tottenham manager has failed in his attempts to bring Jermain Defoe to the Championship side, but will now turn his attention to the English striker’s teammates. Redknapp is desperate to bring some Premier League talent to his side, who are joint top of the Championship after 5 matches.
Adebayor, who was signed by Redknapp at Spurs, is out of favour at White Hart Lane, but has refused to join Turkish side Besiktas. The Togo forward isn’t expected to play for Tottenham this season, with summer signing Roberto Soldado becoming the number 1 striker at the club. Both Adebayor and Assou-Ekotto are yet to feature for Tottenham this season.
Whilst Spurs are happy to listen to offers for the duo, QPR’s main concern over any deal is wages. The Loftus Road side are hoping that they can convince the pair to lower than wage demands for first team football, with the World Cup less than a year away.
The pair would add to the high amount of ins and outs at Tottenham this summer, in a transfer window that has seen Spurs spend nearly £100million, as well as selling Gareth Bale for a world record fee of £86million.
Would the two join QPR? Do Spurs need them as back up?
