Tottenham Hotspur have been boosted in their pursuit of Victor Wanyama, who looks set to snub a contract extension offer from Southampton in favour of a move, The Sun reports.
The 24-year-old has been offered a five-year long term deal at St Mary’s Stadium, but it looks as though the midfielder has already made up his mind about leaving.
He has been linked with an exit for some time, with Spurs reportedly ready to revive their interest in the powerful enforcer.
Wanyama is now expected to be allowed to leave for around £25m, with the club ready to cash in on his services before his contract expires at the end of next season.
The Kenya international is said to be interested in reuniting with former manager Mauricio Pochettino at White Hart Lane.
He made 35 appearances in all competitions for his side last term, scoring a total of one goal while managing to provide another one assists.
