Tottenham eye Bundesliga star

Tottenham are one of a number of clubs looking at a summer deal for Werder Bremen’s Aaron Hunt, according to reports from Kreiszeitung Syke.

The German international look set to end his 13-year association with the Bundesliga club at the end of the season, which has alerted potential suitors.

As well as Bayer Leverkusen and Borussia Monchengladbach, Spurs are being linked with the attacking midfielder, and could look to launch a move during the off-season.

Hunt’s current contract is now ticking towards its close, and Werder are keen to cash in as soon as possible, rather than lose him for free.

It is thought that Tottenham have been watching him closely of late, with Tim Sherwood already gearing up for the next transfer window despite doubts surrounding his current situation at White Hart Lane.

Hunt has long been linked with moves to the Premier League due to his close ties with England – the country from which his mother originates.

In 2009 the skilful attacker was being lined up tor represent the Three Lions at international level, but he instead opted to pursue a career with his home nation.

Hunt also made headlines recently after denying his own team a penalty kick, after confessing the referee than he had not been fouled by Nuremberg’s Javier Pinola.
