Tottenham eye up Spanish talent on scouting mission

Barcelona B midfielder Sergi Samper

Andre Villas-Boas flew out to Spain during the international break to keep an eye on the fresh talent in the Spanish B sides, and despite stating he is looking for a new striker to help Tottenham break into the top four, he was keeping his tabs on 18-year-old Sergi Samper, a defensive midfielder for the Barcelona B team, reports the Daily Mail.

Samper who has been at Barcelona since 2001, was promoted to the Barcelona B team this summer after playing in the youth team for a number of seasons.

Despite being impressed with Samper, AVB was also keeping an eye out for Barcelona B central midfielder Javier Espinosa, 21, and goalkeeper Jordi Masip, 24. Masip has been playing for the Barcelona B team since 2008, while Espinosa made his Barcelona B debut in 2010.
