Harry Kane’s emergence last season caught everyone off guard, and we all half expected him to hit the ground running for Spurs in the Premier League this season.
But instead the England international has looked a shadow of his former self so far this term, with the striker still searching for his first goal for the north London club this season.
Some did claim he’d be a one season wonder, but his performances for England in the recent international break suggested he’d soon be banging them in for fun for Mauricio Pochettino’s men.
It was widely believed today would be the day his drought would end, with the visit of an impressive looking Crystal Palace still looking like the perfect opportunity for Kane to get off the mark.
But during the opening 45 minutes of this afternoon’s London derby at White Hart Lane, Kane was still clearly lacking in confidence, with him drifting in and out of the game and looking a far cry from his normal lethal self.
And Spurs fans appear to be slowly giving up on him if the below tweets are anything to go by…
