In his entire managerial career, Jose Mourinho has never really been known for his prodigious use of a club's academy talents. The Portuguese boss has built a successful reputation for being a trophy-winning machine and someone who demands instant success - not exactly the most conducive of characteristics for young players looking to make their mark.

But despite his arrival as Tottenham manager following the sacking of Mauricio Pochettino, it appears the north London side's promising teenagers have had no second thoughts over committing their long-term futures to the club.

After Malachi Fagan-Walcott signed a deal earlier in the week, highly-rated full-back Dennis Cirkin has also put pen to paper on what is his first professional contract with the club.

Mourinho himself personally name-checked the 17-year-old in his pre-match press conference, declaring: "OK, he’s 17, but he’s a kid with a lot of quality, and I look forward to bringing him to train with us, and to help his development."

And after seeing him sign a contract with the club, Spurs fans took to Twitter to hail the defender.

Many supporters of the north London side revealed their excitement at seeing him further develop, with some even pointing to Mourinho's comments about him as proof that he has a bright future ahead of him.
