Federico Fazio was absolutely phenomenal in Roma’s epic Champions League win on Tuesday night, and Tottenham fans are in utter disbelief.

Fazio moved to North London in 2014 hoping to become the next towering centre back to marshal the Tottenham defence, but left after just 20 league appearances.

The 31 year-old spent time with both Sevilla and Roma on loan before joining the Italian giants permanently last summer.

Despite an up and down season for the Giallorossi, they made history on Tuesday night with a remarkable 3-0 win over Barcelona (4-4 on aggregate), and Fazio was an absolute brick wall in defence.

The Argentine veteran made four interceptions, made two clearances, won two aerial duels and also blocked two shots.

His partnership in the Roma back three with Juan Jesus and Kostas Manolas has been a huge part of Roma’s incredible Champions League run, but Spurs fans can’t quite believe it’s the same person that struggled to get in the side in North London.
