Loads of Tottenham fans have been giving their verdict on Saturday’s hard-fought win over Burnley, and they are absolutely crucifying Erik Lamela.
Tottenham moved to within five points of league leaders Manchester City on Saturday afternoon, but it wasn’t all plain sailing for Mauricio Pochettino’s side.
Burnley came to Wembley with a plan to frustrate the hosts, and it worked extremely well until Christian Eriksen found the game’s only goal in stoppage time.
Playmaker FC Exclusive: Jermaine Jenas reveals he would have snubbed Tottenham for Arsenal if they’d come knocking in 2005…
While Tottenham didn’t exactly create loads of chances, they certainly created enough to win by more than one goal, and fans are blasting Lamela for his terrible finishing.
The Argentine international has been brilliant as a super-sub for most of this campaign, and he showed exactly why he shouldn’t start on Saturday.
The 26 year-old took a remarkable seven shots, but got just two of them on target. He also committed two fouls and was dispossessed twice, and fans are crucifying his performance.
Pochettino is clearly a big fan of his compatriot, but the Twitter reactions down below don’t seem too impressed…
Lamela needs to be sold, useless as ever

Two things from that, Danny Rose is a great player and plays like that in the huge games but he wasn't great today.
And Lamela, just when you think he's finally come to the party he goes awful again.
Great win though with a lot of players out.
