Tottenham fans crucify Vorm after pre-season performance

Loads of Tottenham fans have been bashing Michel Vorm, after the 34 year-old failed to save a single penalty in Spurs’ shootout loss to Barcelona on Sunday morning.

Tottenham fans have been growing more and more impatient with the lack of transfer activity this summer.

However, one area Mauricio Pochettino’s side is unquestionably solid is in defence, where Hugo Lloris will be full of confidence after the World Cup, and the likes of Jan Vertonghen, Kieran Trippier and Davinson Sanchez are also coming off successful tournaments.

It looks like fans want a new second option in goal though, where they could be in trouble if Lloris picks up a knock.

Vorm was brought in back in 2014 to be a safe pair of hands if Lloris ever needed a break, but the 15-cap Dutch international is starting to show his age, and fans are calling for him to lose his place.

While the back-up goalkeeper isn’t exactly the most important position in the squad, it could prove crucial if Lloris suffers from injury or even suspension, and Vorm’s disappointing showings thus far in pre-season have annoyed fans.
