Tottenham Hotspur kept their chances of making the last-16 stage of the Champions League alive with a 1-0 win over Inter Milan on Wednesday night.

Christian Eriksen scored the only goal of the match in the 80th minute, and the assist came from Dele Alli.

Alli had been causing Inter problems all night with his movement in the hole behind Harry Kane, and the England international came up trumps late on as he set up Eriksen.

The result moved Tottenham above Inter into second position in Group B, although the Premier League club now face a daunting trip to Barcelona in their final match.

It remains to be seen whether Tottenham can get over the line, but the club's supporters certainly enjoyed the victory over Inter.

And Alli - a 2015 arrival from MK Dons - has been widely praised by the club's fans on social media for playing a key role in the team securing all three points.
