Tottenham Hotspur have booked their place in the semi-finals of the FA Cup for the second successive season after a comfortable 3-0 win away to Swansea City on Saturday.
A double from Christian Eriksen and an Erik Lamela strike were enough to give them the victory on an afternoon they were rarely threatened by Carlos Carvalhal’s side.
Two down at the break, the Swans needed inspiration in the second half and started brightly after the interval, going close to scoring with a double effort on goal that may have changed the game.
However, deputy goalkeeper Michel Vorm produced the goods, initially saving smartly from Martin Olsson’s fierce drive then immediately denying Tammy Abraham on the follow-up.
It was a contribution that delighted Spurs fans, with many believing it was a pivotal moment in the tie.
Vorm is always going to have chances limited at the club due to Hugo Lloris’ presence, but supporters were impressed that he managed to do the job when called upon.
They took to Twitter to share their thoughts…
Not enough is said about Vorm. Can’t imagine it’s easy to always play second fiddle to Hugo, but he is usually so solid when he’s called upon. Could walk into most prem teams as their first choice, no doubt. #SWATOT #COYS

An impressive attacking performance today, but the key moment for me was Michel Vorm's double save before the break.

Well-played Michel, a fine double-save to deny Swansea getting back into the game at a crucial time and a clean sheet to go with it, such an underrated deputy to Hugo. 👏🏻

You had nothing to do Michel until that double save. AND you pulled it out of the bag. Always there when needed. Well done son #COYS

You’ve been a great keeper Michel. If you leave in the summer, I’d imagine almost every spurs fan will thank you for your service and wish you well. Fantastic saves today

Big shout out to Vorm today for that superb double save. Hadn't had much of note to do before, but showed focus and reflexes still there.
If that had been De Gea BT would be banging on about it all week #COYS

Eriksen and Lamela will get the plaudits, but that double save from Vorm was spectacular. #COYS
