According to The Mirror, Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing West Bromwich Albion forward Salomon Rondon during this summer's transfer window.

Rondon will leave West Brom this summer following his club's relegation to the Championship, and it is understood that the striker has a £16m release clause in his contract.

West Ham United have been linked with a move for the Venezuela international, but according to The Mirror, Tottenham are also very much in the race ahead of the 2018-19 campaign.

Rondon managed 10 goals in 40 appearances for West Brom last term - including seven in 36 Premier League matches, which is an impressive total when considering his team's struggles.

Rondon, who is valued at £11.7m by transfermarkt.co.uk, would seemingly act as back-up to Harry Kane at White Hart Lane if he switched to London, and the move does seem to make a lot of sense when considering his talent.

However, it appears that the bulk of Spurs supporters are entirely against the deal going through in this summer's transfer window.
