According to The Mirror, Real Madrid attacker Gareth Bale will reject a summer return to Tottenham Hotspur, and Spurs fans are pretty happy with the report.
The north London outfit have been linked with a move for their former player in recent times, but it appears as though the Wales international has no intention of returning to north London if The Mirror is to be believed.
Despite Zinedine Zidane pushing him towards the exit door having failed to name in his previous two match-day squads, the 29-year-old is reportedly determined not to be forced out from his £600,000-a-week contract at the Bernabeu, which still has three years left to run.

The Mirror says that Bale, who has been booed by Real’s fans this term, will only consider leaving for “another very top club”, and it appears as though Spurs don’t fit under that criteria.
So it looks likely that the Welshman won’t be linking up with the likes of Harry Kane and Dele Alli in the English capital anytime soon, but lots of Tottenham supporters are far from disappointed with the story – many seem pleased, in fact.
While one said “he would be worse for us than Adebayor was”, another simply said it was “good news”.
Here is just a selection of the Twitter reaction…
Could care less – wish him no ill will but we’ve moved on. Oh, one thing more, I must have missed where he congratulated us on CL finals. He would be worse for us than Adebayor was

Enough of nostalgia with Bale, it’s all one sided. Bale chose to abandon Tottenham when we needed him the most and Tottenham fans need to get over it. He deserves the way he is being treated at Madrid. Shamelessly trying to stick around, we should not be after such a character

don’t want him anyways, all he wants is money and not football.

Good. He wouldn’t help us.
