Tottenham Hotspur booked their spot in the semi-finals of the EFL Cup with a 2-0 win over Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday night.

Son Heung-min scored Tottenham's first in the 20th minute, before Dele Alli doubled the away side's advantage just before the hour mark.

It was a wonderful goal from Alli as well, with the England international collecting a super pass from Harry Kane before lifting a delicious chip over Gunners stopper Petr Cech.

The goal was Alli's fourth of the season, and his second in the EFL Cup.

The attacker was involved in an unsavoury incident though when he was hit on the head by a plastic bottle thrown from the crowd during the clash at the Emirates.

The 22-year-old was near the touchline when he was struck, and reacted with a 2-0 gesture to the home supporters.

Alli's performance on the night was extremely impressive, and the Tottenham fans were keen to pay tribute to the former MK Dons youngster after the match.
